Air Liquide Canada executive appointments

Air Liquide, a world leader in industrial and medical gases and related services, has named Michael J. Graff as chairman of the board and Luc Doyon as chief executive officer of Air Liquide Canada.

Graff adds the chairmanship of Air Liquide Group’s Canadian subsidiary to his role as president and chief executive officer of Air Liquide USA LLC and as a director of its U.S. subsidiary businesses. Graff brings 30 years of experience as a senior executive in the energy, chemicals and polymers industries working across the Americas, Asia and Europe.

Luc Doyon, currently president and chief operating officer of Air Liquide Canada, has been named the Montreal based subsidiary’s chief executive officer. Doyon brings more than 20 years experience in the industry through his positions with the company throughout North America.

Graff and Doyon will guide Air Liquide Canada, one of the oldest subsidiaries of Air Liquide Group, established in 1911, to maintain its leadership position in all aspects of the market as well as direct the company through new developments and accelerated growth.

Pierre Dufour, executive vice president of Air Liquide Group, and president and chief executive officer of American Air Liquide Holdings, Inc. stated, “Canada faces new and positive challenges in the coming years, accelerating efficiencies in its activities and accelerating growth, mainly in the Alberta oil sands, where we have plans to invest 1 billion dollars (CAD) over the next few years. Mike and Luc’s proven leadership in the industry will enable Air Liquide Canada to continue on its path of successful development.”
Graff is a graduate in chemical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University. He studied business at the University of Chicago and completed executive management programs at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Cambridge and Stanford University Law School.

Doyon holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal and a graduate degree in welding engineering from the Ecole Superieure de Soudage et des Applications (ESSA) in Paris.
