ALLEX Program  [ Return to  Student Zone  ]

Real life experiences for college graduates

As your graduation draws near, various career choices begin to emerge.  At American Air Liquide we realize that no matter what your career goal, you now need "real world" expirience. That's why we invite you to look into the ALLEX rotational program.

What is ALLEX?

Air Liquide Leading EXcellence

The ALLEX Program is a 24-month rotational training and development program designed to introduce new engineers to all facets of Air Liquide early in their careers. Participants work in different areas of Air Liquide to develop their knowledge and skills while making contacts with people at all levels of the company. Over the course of the program, program participants learn about the Air Liquide corporate identity and culture.

Joining the ALLEX Team

Air Liquide recruits students during their sophomore and junior years for summer internships. High-performing interns are given offers to join the ALLEX Program upon graduation. Air Liquide also recruits students during their senior year. Students pursuing the following majors are recruited for summer interships and the ALLEX Program:

  • Engineering (mechanical, chemical, electrical, and industrial)
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Accounting and Finance
  • Health, Safety and Environment
  • Human Resources

Program Rotations

ALLEX participants rotate to positions in various departments and plants throughout Air Liquide. By rotating to different areas of interest, participants get a broad overview of the company early in their career. Rotations are all six months in duration. All ALLEX participants must complete foundational rotations (one in operations and one directly related to their field of study) during year one. The rotation schedule for the second year is customized based on the individual's desired career path in either operations, technical or business functions within Air Liquide.

Each rotation has specific performance and learning objectives. A performance objective describes a skill that should be mastered or a task that should be completed during the rotation. A learning objective covers knowledge that needs to be learned during the rotation. These objectives ensure the goals of the program are being met and that the program participant has a valuable experience during each rotation.

Training Opportunities

Program participants complete a three-week orientation program designed to:

  • provide an overview of the vast world of Air Liquide;
  • prepare participants for their rotations through safety and technical training;
  • instill a sense of teamwork and community; and,
  • create opportunities to network with others throughout the Air Liquide organization.

In addition, program participants take all training required by law (i.e., OSHA, FDA, etc.), by company policy or by local site regulations and procedures. Program participants are also required to take a variety of training courses as part of their development.
